  • The Dalmore Luminary Plinth- V&A Dundee.

Earlier in 2024 V&A Dundee commissioned us to design and fabricate a plinth to display their collection of The Dalmore ‘s luminary series. When we design something we always start with researching the historical and traditional. This is where you can extract really beautiful detail from pieces of heritage, and then translate that into something paired back and showcase the detail in the design. In this case that was looking at traditional Japanese woodworking aesthetics and motifs, as well as the use of oak in the whisky industry.

  • Creative informatics- Local Heroes

Draff Studio led on the fabrication, install and de-stall of the exhibition curated by Stacey Hunter and Martin Baillie for Creative Informatics and Edinburgh University to be delivered at the National Museum of Scotland as well as two other venues over 3 years. The exhibition aimed to showcase the integration of Scotland's world-class creative industries with its tech sector, harnessing data for innovative products and experiences. Emphasising sustainability and durability, we fabricated these installations with adaptable, modular surfaces designed for long-term reuse and AV integration. This approach not only enhanced the versatility of the displays but also aligned with our commitment to material sustainability, ensuring that the installations could evolve with future needs while minimising environmental impact.
